At DT we take special care to ensure the flatness and smoothness of our AT Image Surfaces. Any visible texture, shine or perforations can be extremely distracting to the viewer.
The open area of the image surface is an important element in sound transfer but also tends to exacerbate visible artefacts.
This image illustrates an "internet favourite" woven fibreglass image surface. The diagonal weave pattern is absolutely typical of this type of image surface.
This image shows DT ATPro at the rear and a market leading micro perforated screen in front. it can be seen that the micro perforations are clearly visible (open the image in a new tab to zoom in). This is often described as a type of mosquito image noise by viewers and can be clearly seen from several meters away from the screen.
The surface t the right of the screen shows a knitted polyester image surface from a market leader. The texture and sheen of this can be clearly seen in comparison to the ATPro image surface on the left of the image.
