BARBACK
There is only one level of barback. We don’t want to hire career barbacks. We want to hire barbacks that want to be bartenders. Our hope is that someone only stays in the barback role for a couple of months.
BARTENDER
Every bartender starts here
BARTENDER I
Employed for at least 90 days
Passes the Basic Drink Menu Test
Passes the Basic Food Menu Test
Passes the Basic Server Practical Test
Able to clean the beer keg machine lines
Can handle tables with up to 6 guests
At least one completed Merit Card
Knows the five Core Values of the Beach Club
Recommended by immediate supervisor or HOD
BARTENDER II
Employed for at least 9 months
Passes the Advanced Drink Menu Test
Passes the Advanced Food Menu Test
Passes the Advanced Server Practical Test
Suggests weekly drink specials to supervisor
Demonstrates consistent ability to upsell
Can handle tables with up to 10 guests
Consistently below 10% on inventory loss
At least two completed Merit Cards
Recommended by immediate supervisor or HOD
BARTENDER III
Employed for at least 18 months
Trained at least one new bartender
Can handle tables of any size
Consistently below 7% on inventory loss
At least four completed Merit Cards
Recommended by immediate supervisor or HOD
BARTENDER IV
Employed for at least 30 months
Leads other bartenders by setting the example
Consistently below 5% on inventory loss
At least six completed Merit Cards
Recommended by majority of other bartenders
Recommended by immediate supervisor or HOD
