Brunch Chef

Garage Coffee Roasters is a speciality coffee business with stores across East Kent. We source and roast high grade, speciality coffee and serve through our shops and wholesale partners.

We are developing an exciting new food offering to pair with our renowned speciality coffee. We
are looking for a part-time Brunch Chef to lead the launch of our new brunch menu at the Roastery
Cafe, with the opportunity to influence menu development and help shape our future central kitchen
operations.

This role is ideal for a passionate chef who enjoys simple, high-quality food, is comfortable working
independently, and wants to be part of a growing business

The Role

Hours: 18 hours per week

Days of work: 3 days per week (Friday, Saturday & Sunday)

Location: Garage Coffee Roasters, Calcott Oast, Calcott Hill, Sturry, CT3 4ND

Pay: £12.78 per hour

Closing Date: 25/06/2025

Start Date: 07/07/2025



What you’ll be doing:  

  • Prepare and serve a small, high quality brunch menu at the Roastery Cafe

  • Carry out brunch prep work, admin tasks and menu development research on a Friday and food service on weekend days

  • Work to our specially curated lunch menu and in time lead in trialling, developing and refining recipes for future rollout across multiple Garage Coffee Roasters locations

  • Ensure food consistency, presentation and portion control at all times

  • Manage stock, ordering and prepping quantities to reduce waste

  • Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness at all times

  • Work collaboratively with the coffee team and contribute to a smooth, efficient service environment

  • Provide input into developing food preparation systems suitable for central kitchen production

  • At Garage we are one team, one dream so from time-to-time you may be asked to pitch in with other duties that are not directly related to your job description

 

What you need- the must haves: 

  • Comfortable working independently and managing service with limited supported

  • Experience in breakfast/brunch cooking (eggs, hashes, sandwiches, toasties, simple plated dishes)

  • Must have a passion for coffee, food, hospitality! Especially for simple, fresh & seasonal food done well.

  • High standards of food hygiene and kitchen organisation

  • Be enthusiastic and adaptable, being ready to lead and inspire others 

  • Great communication skills with a ‘can-do’ team attitude  

  • Happy and proactive in contributing ideas towards development and systemisation

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and think critically

  • Excellent organisational skills, taking pride in ensuring the smooth running of the shops
