Barista/Roastery Assistant

Garage Coffee Roasters is a speciality coffee business with stores across East Kent. We source and roast high grade, speciality coffee and serve through our shops and wholesale partners.

We are looking for some talented people to help run the whole roastery operation. This role will include being a front of house barista, making and serving excellent quality coffee and supporting the production side of our roastery operation.

The Role

Hours: minimum of 6 hours per week

Days of work: 1 day per week

Location: Garage Coffee Roasters, Calcott Oast, Calcott Hill, Sturry, CT3 4ND

Pay: £12.21 per hour

Closing Date: 25/04/2025

Start Date: ASAP



What you'll be doing

  • Develop and maintain excellent latte art skills

  • Be able to deliver great customer service & inspire those around you

  • Pitch in with all duties that come with operating a busy coffee shop, including maintaining high standards of cleanliness front and back of house

  • Support on food prep and service

  • Preparing roastery online and wholesale orders for dispatch to a very high standard

  • Maintaining the organisation of the Roastery including regular cleaning of equipment and stock takes

  • Assisting with general operational duties like contacting prospective wholesale clients, some account

  • A willingness to represent Garage Coffee at events and markets as and when required

  • Enjoy working in a team environment, being able to multitask & communicate effectively

  • To adhere to any health and safety requirements and maintain a clean and tidy coffee shop and roastery at all times, including opening and closing duties

  • At Garage we are one team, one dream so from time-to-time you may be asked to pitch in with other duties that are not directly related to your job description

What you need- the must haves:

  • Ideally be a skilled barista, although full training will be provided

  • Be a keen team player who can take direction but also use own initiative 

  • A passion for coffee (particularly speciality)

  • A desire to share the Garage Coffee vision with customers, promoting coffee consumption by educating customers in an accessible way about all things speciality coffee and our other products

  • Great attitude

  • To be flexible with your working hours
